| | What A Blessing! | | | Sunday, April 6, 2008 (6:40 PM) (I'm feeling happy) | | I woke up yesterday at 2:46AM to what sounded like a helicopter landing on the roof of our house. It was so loud! And it lasted for over a minute (that's actually a long time, I found, to be exposed to a very loud noise). I don't know if it was a news helicopter or a police helicopter (looking for a fugitive?) or a military helicopter doing exercises (at 3AM?!) or something else, but I was awake so I got up and got ready for the trip. I did end up going back to sleep for 1/2 hr, but I went to pick up my friend and we were on the way before 7AM.
It was a long trip and I won't bore you with the details. I usually don't make such long trips on Sabbath, but we were going to church and, when I heard the sermon, I knew it was one of the reasons God put it in my heart to want to get to the Music Festival so badly. It was about healing from hurts and putting away the anger/bitterness they may have caused. My friend really enjoyed it too.
After church we were invited to fellowship dinner. One of the church members hosting the dinner was a former church member of my step-father's at a church he pastored previously. Her daughter just got married recently. I babysat her daughter when she was tiny. I hadn't really seen that family since then. It was nice talk to the mom some (I didn't see any of the rest of the family was there that day). My friend was adventurous and tried some of the meatless meatballs and the meatless franks and beans. She's been to a couple of our vegetarian church dinners and is a pretty good sport about it. There's usually something there she can find to eat. As usual, the desserts were great.
The Music Festival Concert was everything I'd hoped it would be. A couple of the songs brought tears to my eyes. Lord willing,I'm going to share some of them in my video section. It's not the same as being there, but some of the songs come through pretty well.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
