 Scarf Points
Monday, September 22, 2008 (2:02 PM)
(I'm feeling amused)
Well, happy Autumn!

I have been rather focussed on Mr R, who continues to be very unresponsive, and hasn't even posted a video in a couple of weeks, although he logs in regularly.  He has said he'll have an address for me in November (he's moving, and I asked if I could send him a Christmas card.  This conversation was a couple of weeks ago)  IF he gives me his address, I shall be golden!!  I shall send him a nice Christmas gift.  If he is VERY good, he gets a scarf (hand knit by me) for Valentine's Day!  By "good", I mean, he must answer my emails and comment on my videos, and respond to my comments.  In essence, *communicate*.  I have devised the Scarf Point System.  If he earns 100 points between now and Feb 1, he gets the scarf.  10 points for responding to my emails, 20 points for initiating an email, 5 points for responding to my video comments, 10 points for commenting on my videos (this fluctuates depending on the intricacy of his response) 35 points for making a video response, 50 points for making a private video to me, etc!  He currently has -20 points!  Yep, that's *negative* 20. Hmmmm...I wonder if I should tell him about this, or just hand him a shovel?

 Love Stinks!
Tuesday, September 16, 2008 (2:09 PM)
(I'm feeling crushed)
For nearly 2 years, I have had a crush on a YT'er named Rodney.  I have been too shy to do anything about it.  After my birthday this year, when I became shockingly old (!!!) all of a sudden, I realized I had better damn well STEP IT UP with him!  Sooo, it's a painfully arduous process...he will watch my videos, but leave tiny comments that don't say much, although lately he has not commented at all.  I don't know what is going on in his head.  I think he is a thoroughly wonderful man, and I would dearly love to have a friendship with him.  I wish he would trust me enough to open up, just a tiny bit.  It would mean the world to me.

I pride myself on my patience.  I will wait for as long as I can stand it. He's worth it.  Sometimes there are tiny victories.  In the past I have tried to leave him alone.  I'll unsub from his channel and focus my energy here on LV.  But, I always get pulled back to YT, where many dear friends are, and so of course I decide to pop in on his channel.  He'll have a really funny video up, and my heart, which I thought I had hardened to him, will melt all over again.

 Plugging Away
Thursday, July 17, 2008 (9:54 PM)
(I'm feeling apathetic)
Howdy!

Not a lot has changed since my last entry.  I did submit an application at my old job.  I then checked back, and was told to check back again this last Tuesday.  Seems that the manager is possibly waiting to collect a bunch of apps, and then interview us en masse...or, maybe he'll just set aside a day or 2 just for interviews.  Anyway, I am still in a holding pattern.  I guess I will call again next week if he hasn't called me by then.  Tomorrow's Friday, so he could call tomorrow, or, maybe Monday.  If I *do* get an interview, I have my outfit set aside, and even ironed! LOL!  I'se READY!!!

I am looking for things to sell.  Turns out I'll likely get cash back when I cancel my ins policy.  They mailed me a form to sign, that must also be witnessed.  I'll take it to work tomorrow, and hopefully somebody there will sign.  I *think* Mom signed me up for this policy 12 years ago as a source of emergency money.  I remember her saying "You can even borrow against the policy".  I am single with no dependents.  Why have life insurance?  I can't afford the premium!  I will look into term insurance at a later date.  If I *ever* get married (I wish!), then life ins is a no-brainer!  I bet Mom was assuming (12 years ago) that I'd get married.  Well, yeah, me too, but it hasn't turned out that way. :- (

I listed my Moog synthesizer on Craigslist today, and I have already gotten a response!  Meanwhile, I am having no luck getting rid of the desk!  I've bought a cheap email appraisal of it, and some china, too.  I don't have the results yet.  They promised tomorrow.  I have contacted a different antiques dealer who might be interested in the desk (but probably not the china).  If I can at least sell the desk, then I wouldn't mind donating the china (and some other stuff) to the Salvation Army.  They'll come pick it up, and I'll get a tax write off.

Once this desk is gone, I am going to TOTALLY re-arrange the living room!  I'll have SPACE! Yay!  Can't wait!  I'm planning a video of it with Nana Melon and me...sort of a split screen thing.

I have found the COOLEST software!  It is for an unreleased video game (out in Sept) called "SPORE".  In the game you create civilizations and entire worlds!!  Right now they have both a FREE version of "Creature Creator", or pay about $20.00 and get the full "Creature Creator" software.  You assemble creatures, which you paint, and then "test drive", where they dance and roar and have babies and more.  You can photograph them, or upload a video of them to You Tube!  This program has kept me from going into a deeeeeeeeeep depression over money and loneliness.

It's time I got to bed.
Nighters!

(I'm feeling optimistic)
I'm going to go out on a limb today, and allow myself to feel a little optimistic about jobs!  I found out why P laughed when I asked if there were job openings...it's because there are!  M called and told me today!  Somebody's leaving!  Oh, BOY, I hope this works out!  For months and months I have tried to have 2 jobs with no success!   She told me the hours are Thurs., Fri., Sat evenings, which I can swing!  I think it's 18 hours per week, which leaves me working about 38 hours per week...actually, it would alternate between 34 and 42, averaging out to 38 per 2 week pay period.  Well, *something* like that!  So, I'll head over Monday for lunch, etc., and get my application in!  They might even interview me the same day!

I am totally emotionally exausted between worrying about Mom and money for over 6 months!  Maybe there will be one less major worry next week!

Years ago, (1995) Mom signed me up for life insurance without telling me and stuck me with the $300.00 premium to pay every year!  Well, I think I have found a cheaper plan with higher coverage.  So, when the bill comes this month, maybe I'll cancel that old policy!  That would be a load off!  Now I need to decide on a beneficiary.

 Fourth of July
Friday, July 4, 2008 (3:22 PM)
(I'm feeling busy)
Happy Independence Day!  I'll bet you're enjoying a day off!

I worked this morning...my next morning off is next Thursday.  It's miles away!

I called  the mall yesterday, to see if there were openings at my old job.  Well, first thing, my former co-worker laughed, which was pretty rude!  Then she checked with the manager and said I should fill out an application and get interviewed and "take it from there".  So, does this mean there are openings???   I'll go over Monday after work.  Maybe I'll have lunch over there, even. If it's too hot to ride my bike, I'll have to take a cab.  Yuck.  Frustrating.  I *hate* waiting 45 minutes for a cab!!!

I just colored my hair.  Now it's back to looking like my profile picture, except I chopped off some if the dead stuff, so it's  about shoulder length in front, then a little longer in back.

I'm selling an antique desk.  My antiques guy said he'd contact me last Tuesday, but "got sidetracked", so now it has all been delayed until next Tuesday.  I'll have to make sure he's gone by 5:00 so that I don't miss knitting.  I forgot about that! I joined a knitting club that meets every Tuesday evening.  It's not a class.  We just sit at the Maui Wowi sipping smoothies and chatting.  Usually somebody brings a knitting book that gets passed around.  Seems like everybody knits socks these days.  Not me; I am scarf woman!

That reminds me that I need to set up my Etsy store today.  I moved to Etsy because it's cheaper, I think I'll get more exposure.

I can't wait to get the desk outta here and re-arrange the living room!  It is so cramped!  I live in a little apartment.  I have a big table that I'm going to use as a desk.  I have loads of nice boxes and baskets and storage bins that I'll keep office supplies in.  The sofa is going across the room, by the window.  The table takes the sofa's old position. This is where the cable outlet is, which is computer land.  I have a laptop, but it's not portable anymore.  I run it on AC because the battery is old and barely holds a charge anymore.  Also,my internet is a cable connection.  I have cable for the internet, and nothing for the TV.  That's sorta backwards, huh?

 Cha Cha
Thursday, June 26, 2008 (10:38 AM)
MOOD: INSULTED!!!

I applied to Cha Cha, which is a search engine that uses humans in a chat application to help with the search.  They sent me an invitation to apply.  I just went to their website and filled out forms and took some tests, which were timed.  They rejected me! Waaaaah!!  Well, there were questions from people who text, and I don't text at all!  I have never even touched it, so I didn't understand the text messages (abbreviations), and their openings are for guides who will respond to text search inquiries.  Other than that, I did well!  There was a typing test, and I thought I'd be REALLLY SLOOOOOOW and not even get through what I was supposed to type in the allotted time, but I got it exactly right with minutes to spare!!  But, it's all about SPEED, SPEED, SPEED these days.  I am accurate, yet slow.  Isn't it better to be accurate, and then let speed come naturally?  It's a matter of teaching your fingers.  What a bunch of poops!

I'm going to go start a blog at
www.mylot.com/ now!

 Resting
Wednesday, June 25, 2008 (4:03 PM)
(I'm feeling recumbent)
Hi!  Phew!  I get my day off tomorrow!  I love Thursdays!

Okay, I have applied to ChaCha.com to be a guide.  ChaCha is a search engine that uses live guides via chat applications.  It's not a lot of money, and I'm not sure if/when they'll have openings (where have I heard that before?).  I also signed up at MyLots, who pay you to participate in their community.  I need to get over there and participate.

My new Shure Pets site is up!  Come and buy some goodies for your pet!
siriusandlynx.shopshurepets.com

I have been fighting a cold, so I am mostly resting up for the rest of today, and tomorrow.  I work Friday, then I have the weekend off.  Then I am back to getting up at 6:00 a.m.  Ugh!

I need to make a new Vita video, for a Yahoo Group I've just been made the owner of.  It's for direct selling (AVON, Mary Kay, Tupperware, and all the gang).
groups.yahoo.com/group/catalogswapnshop  I don't like the name.  Maybe I can change it.  Doesn't "Vita Peta's Direct Sellers Club" sound like more fun?  Especially when you meet Vita??

Okay, now to check my email and then over to MyLots.

 Surprise Day Off
Wednesday, June 11, 2008 (1:38 PM)
Okay, it turns out that I *always* get Thursdays off, and every other weekend off.  Plus, I always work in the office on Tues., as that's D's day off.  So, on odd numbered weeks, I am office, and even numbered weeks I do receiving, except on Tuesdays.  And my receiving week ends Friday.  On the weekends I am back in the office.  So, on the weekends I work, I am always in the office.  Who's confused?  Raise your hand!

I got through that first Avon order fine, and made a profit of $50.00, which went into my dying savings account.  I have a new order to be placed on Saturday.  It is so small that I won't even make a profit.

Boy, has my trike been screwed up!!!  I ran over a thorny tree branch last week, and got a flat tire.  It took 3 days to get the bike shop to come fix it.  Note: bike shops think you are NUTS if you ask them if they have a mobile repair service.  They get very rude! JERKS!  I was LUCKY, LUCKY, LUCKY to find a shop that would send somebody out.  It was a simple repair, but I lack the tools.  I should buy some tools in preparation for next time.  Putting my trike on the truck screwed up the canopy, but I fixed it today.

No luck with jobs.  I keep applying.  The businesses are so slow to  respond, if they respond at all!  Swarovski is hiring at the mall, but they keep me waiting.  It is a new store...not moved into the mall yet.  So they need staff!  But, they keep me waiting.

More and more I am finding that business people are very undisciplined.  They are really casual about everything.  If they have an appointment with you, they say "between 2:00 and 4:00", rather than "3:00".  So, you wait for them for 2 hours and hope they'll show.  I guess it is a "California" thing.  Back East, you'd say "3:00", and call if you were running late.

I am 90% sure I am going to sign up with
www.shurepets.com, but I haven't decided when.

I renewed my lease.  I'm now hoping to find a roommate.  I want to transfer to a larger apartment in this complex, and save money on rent.  I am going to check
www.girlfriendscafe.com to see if they allow roommate ads.

 June 1
Sunday, June 1, 2008 (10:13 AM)
(I'm feeling drained)
I tried to pay for my Avon order last night, but there was a glitch and it didn't go through.  I got it paid today, though. Phew!  Deadline for orders is noon on Tuesday, or else you are charged.  So I like to get my orders done on Sundays.  We order every 2 weeks.  My one order (my very first), all for one person, had 54 items in it! Phew!!  I hope there are no shortages or back orders.  It comes on Thursday, so I'll know soon!

I just emailed "Totally Pawsome" (
www.totallypawsome.com) with some questions about consultants.  For example, they say their consultants get websites, but I can't find any.  And, are they free?  I'm guessing they haven't added the website feature yet.

I am very tired!  I would like to print out an invoice for my Avon customer, and leave it at her door with the new brochure, but Avon hasn't processed the order yet, so there's no invoice to print out.  So, I gotta wait until later.  So, I think I will go rest and maybe knit (stress reliever) for a while.

Tomorrow I do receiving.  I'll work Mon-Wed, Thurs off, then Sat and Sun. Then Mon-Fri I am back to the office job and get that weekend off. Or, something like that!!  It is goofy as hell! All this just started.  I *was* just working in the office doing the books Mon-Fri.  Ah, progress!  Or whatever!

Must rest!

 Bye Bye May
Saturday, May 31, 2008 (8:59 PM)
(I'm feeling crushed)
I wish whoever reads this would please leave me some comments!!!

I am grieving.  My friend's mother died a couple of years ago.  I just talked to my friend today.  We hadn't spoken in months.  She asked how I was doing, and I said that between Mom dying from Alzheimer's, and money worries, I am upset all the time.  She says I am grieving over my mother.  That's well-put.  I would even go so far to say that I am grief stricken.  She went through it already with her mother.  Now it's my turn.  I want to get this over with.  I don't want Mom to decline over years; I want her to go quickly.  What is she waiting for?  She'll see her sister again, finally! (She died in 1968) And her parents, and her favorite aunt...I see Mom in dreams, and I think to her a lot.  Today I told her it was okay to GO!

Gotta change the subject!  *sigh*  The job hunt continues.  I have submitted several applications to local stores, but I don't even know if any of them are hiring!  I don't have a car, so I only want a job within biking distance.  There are LOADS of stores nearby, and even a shopping mall about 2 miles away (not really bikeable between April and October due to desert heat).  I have worked at the mall before, and could never find somebody to carpool with.  I was forced to cab it, which was ridiculous on so many levels!!  So, I'm really not job hunting at the mall because of the lousy logistics.

I got my first Avon order!  I will submit it online tomorrow.  It is big, but it's cheap, so it's not much money for me.  Today I dropped Avon books, and the rack I had for my books at the hotel was completely GONE!  It was a cute little wooden rack with a drawer.  The desk clerk looked all around for it with no luck!  Then he didn't want the books!  I think I'll skip the hotel from now on!  Somebody is supposed to call me about the rack.  I guess it was stolen!

I joined a knitting club and went to my first meeting last week.  I was all excited that I'd make new friends.  Well, I wasn't very impressed with anybody there!  I couldn't even talk up Avon because the leader sells Mary Kay.  I'll give it another try, though.  Maybe it'll be better.  It'll be too hot to go soon, anyway.

If I had the money, I would sign up for "Totally Pawsome"!  I think it would be fun to be a rep for them.  They sell pet supplies and adorable pet costumes and fancy collars.  I love animals, and I think I would really make some sales! I think I will give myself a deadline on Avon, like, if it's not better by July, quit it and try "Totally Pawsome".  In the meantime, I'm only going to buy brochures.

I need some cheering up...where's that ice cream?
