 Backgammon snobs on Pogo
Monday, August 4, 2008 (8:55 PM)
(I'm feeling frustrated)
I love boardgames!  All sorts of boardgames.  Scattergories, Apples to Apples, Balderdash, Monopoly, Clue, Mastermind, Sorry, Canasta and especially Backgammon.  I don't care for Charades though.

I used to be the one who would provide the games for the family functions.  I created a special "Bakery" edition of Scattergories for my work's Christmas party one year.  I even used to host game nights for friends at the local mall's food court.  I always enjoyed it when people would come over to watch and then end up joining us.

So today, on my day off, I decided to play Backgammon on Pogo.  I'll admit it....I'm a Pogo junkie.  The amount of time you probably spend on LV daily is probably what I spend playing games on Pogo.  Normally it's the last thing I do before saying goodnight to MrPoe and turning in for the evening.  But playing Backgammon on Pogo?  Well, I stopped doing that years ago.  I was hoping it would be different now.  It wasn't.

Instead of relaxing for some game fun, I feel my blood pressure rising and literally start cussing at my monitor.  People are such poor losers.  As soon as they realize they're losing, they resign from the game.  It pisses me off!  Do I quit when I'm losing?  No!  Isn't there anyone who wants to play Backgammon on Pogo just for the hell of it?  Apparantly not.

Years ago, when I stopped playing Backgammon online, MrPoe bought me a Backgammon game.  He even let me teach him how to play.  Now that's a big step for him because he despises boardgames as much as I love them.  I actually bought him a Simpson's Clue and StarWars Battleship game hoping to entice him to play something with me.  I think we've played them once.

Maybe I should just take my game down to the Towne Center and wait for someone to come by and offer to play.  Or maybe I'll just stay home and watch the very moving Free Hugs video on Gallaxey's channel for the tenth time.
