(I'm feeling happy that my friends like me. ^_^) | | | Friends... Do I have any? How can I be sure? How do I know if a person likes me? By asking them? No, people can lie. However it is not to assume that when I ask a question of a person, the answer will be a lie, as this is not necessarily true. How do I know if a person is lying if I can't see them? I can't. It is completely up to me to decide whether or not the believe this person. So in the end, it is ultimatly up to me to decide whom I befreind, and indeed who befrends me. If I decide a person is lying when they say "I don't like you", I would most likely consider this person a friend. However it is unlikely that many of these "one way friendships" will exist because typically a person would gain nothing by saying that they don't like you, when infact they do. It is therefore logical to assume that when a person says "I don't like you", they are telling the truth. However this is not necessarily the case when someone says "I like you". If someone says this, I must take into accout his/her actions and what he/she knows about me. If a person knows nothing aboutme and has never met me, then I would assume that the person doesn't know me well enough to decid whether he/she likes me. If I've known a person for a long time, and they say "I like you", and this person has been nice to me, I should assume that the person is telling the truth. However, it is still possibe that they are lying, however unlikely it would be. Hypothetically, say I was depressed, and I meet someone, and this person feels bad for me. If the person felt bad for me, he/she might try to make me feel better. I would assume that the person doesn't dislike me. If the person made me feel worse, I would assume they disliked me. if the person left me alone, I would assume they didn't feel either way about me. if they made me feel better, I would assume they liked me.
