Hosts are chosen based on the level of participation in past productions. Queries are sent out to whomever's got the most projects under their belt and those that respond with a possible "yes" for hosting (after having read what the duties are) are chosen by the current crew (based on votes).

Hey, welcome, Newbie! If you're reading this and you're one of the upcoming hosts, congratulations on becoming a part of a select group of easily-duped individuals. The more hosts there are, the better we feel at not being alone in our gullibility.
Someone had the brains enough to suggest we at least explain what the duties are, just so we can at least look at ourselves in the mirror at having at least TRIED to put out a warning. But then again, who reads the blogs, right?
Timeline and Instructions:
*Come up with an idea that would engage the entire community.
*Roughly two weeks before your month, plan/coordinate/create a "key pass" vid that shows how the symbolic key is passed from the current month's host to you. You can draw on the CS crew for talent. We're "collab whores",which got us into this fine mess to begin with so we're sure to help out if asked. You're the coordinator for the key pass vid, so anything goes. The "Key Pass" vid is to be uploaded the first day of your month (give or take a few days).
*Film an invitation vid and be sure to include clear instructions, the deadline for submissions, and ways people can send you their vids. The window for uploading the invitation vid is anytime during the first week of your month.
*Create your community vid and upload it anytime during the SECOND week of the following month. The reason for the lag is that it will overlap with the next month's host's vids, so we're trying to space out the vids and not create competition among the channel's content. You can get it in later or earlier, as long as you coordinate it with the next month's host.
*Lastly, you can help out the next host with the key pass in whatever way you can.
SOME NOTES:
Everytime you sign into CollectiveSoul, be sure and accept FRIENDS, but not Crew Invites. Answer mail and create a folder saving the ones you responded to just to keep our correspondence orderly. Use the blog just as you normally would if this were your channel and send gifts! It's REALLY yours for the month!
P.S. The inkeepers (Chig and Syd) usually come in and sweep up the place and throw out any spoiled food in the fridge in between hosts, and that's about it, UNLESS they're specifically asked for any help. Then they gladly put their hero suits on and do what must be done in the name of CollectiveSoul. So please do ask, otherwise, this here blog's all ya get. :o)
