Mexicycle Touring Trip

(I'm feeling bouncy)

Plans fell through for a friend of mine to come visit me in May, which sucks but fortunately it's because of a job prospect, so I'm happy for him. I already notified work about the vacation time, but it can easily be taken back. Or should it? Originally I only planned on taking a two day trip to Dallas for the Radiohead concert, but now I am left with 7 additional days. What should I do? Ride 3,000 miles through Mexico? Ok! Thus the Mexicycle Touring Trip is born!
My first day will be the most difficult. I am attempting to get a certified for a Saddle Sore 1000 (
1,000 miles in 24 hours
). The next I will rest and see Radiohead that night. I have no idea what my schedule will be like after that, and intentionally so. I will travel from Dallas into Mexico until I reach Mazatlán located across the Gulf of California from the southern tip of Baja. I can take a relatively cheap ferry with me and my bike across the gulf and then make my way north back home to Phoenix. Lot's of preparation for me to do. More to come later.
