An investigation into the flight path and relative ground speed of the CBS Dive Bomber.

Pic8 is the so-called “impact” picture.
Given that the maximum speed of
a Cessna 172SP is 145mph and a
tailwind of 15mph for the stretch
down the Hudson River, Yury flew
at 160mph for Pic2 through Pic10.
Using the equation: s=d/t
(and its variants), I started with
Pic8 and extrapolated to Pic2.
From Pic2 westward, I used the distance
of 20 miles [14 miles to Pic1 PLUS
6 more miles to a point
“about over Lincoln Park Airport” (Yury)]
divided by the time remaining after
subtracting 8:46:23am (WTC1 attack)
from 8:57:43am (location of plane
at Pic2): 11min 20sec.
All times are approximate, of course.

I removed the time stamps and made a few cosmetic changes.
