I love this site because of the non establishment iron fist management. But as of Jan 1, 2010 I am still trying to survive the glamorous world of AIDS. A good Video game seems to keep me happy or any and all things tech, Wanting to learn more and get educated by trying to recapture the excitement when building my personal web site back in 1995 which then was written all in html...bummer. So my site hosted by moi and starting over with Word Press as my Content Management core I hope to be more than just a site with a link here or a link there. I have been online since 1993 with AOL 1.5 amazed at AOL allowing me a shot with HIV/AIDS hosted support group, I was hooked. Soon AOL caught on similar to the whole 976- phenom and the now bottle necked speed on our phone modems couldn't hack all the Chat rooms for sex. You know the kind, M4M, M4F, M4 get a mate etc. In 1995 meeting Mike and Matt here in the Midwest they told me about personal web sites and before you knew it I was a .com thomcollins.com to be exact. Blessed to have achieved a few childhood dreams of "stardom/Fame" began to burn out after 13 years as a International Model/dancer. Using the notoriety from a very successful modeling career to my advantage as a HIV/AIDS educator and spokes model gracing the covers of POZ magazine in Feb/March 95 issue to name one. Then due to my "appearance" or healthy physique back in the mid 90's photos for HIV/AIDS imagery was only seen or photographed in the final stages or the "wasting away" syndrome as being stick thin with lesions on ones body, was then accused of glamorizing the very disease in which I too was fighting as well. Alpha Dog, Pans Labyrinth, High Anxiety, The Women, Truth of Dare, The Usual suspects, Harry, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars anything epic. In my realm of TV,Documentaries rule for most of my Attention. The Today show and The View have been a daily part of my routine since Jan 1, 2000 when I made a New years resolution to become more informed. I marvel at all things called or viewed as reality TV. The Idea we would find catching pedophiles under cover camera caught as their lives are essentially destroyed for the world to see and we find entertaining is baffling. Or the spoiled and disrespectful rich youth documented on MTV's Sweet 16 is another show I can think of where I am laughing out loud but at the same time stunned at what I see and hear. Reality shows like American Idol, Project Runway, Pussy cat dolls, Top model are basically masquerading as popular | | Music: Anything with a pulse/beat. Okay I am a wannabee when it comes to Madonna. Most gay men of each generation has their diva mine just happens to be Madonna, but I was the leader and not a follower upon discovering her in 1983. Adore miss Britney for her dance abilities and tunes. Gays have the best music period. House, Worship, all things with a beat. A child who by a blessing from above was given the talent of rhythm. Music is and always will be an escape for me emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Expressing myself through the words from a particular song can sum up what I am feeling in a 4-minute sound byte for that moment in time. My younger years it was through DANCE. Self-expression to the intense beat of the drums and the pounding of the base on a crowded dance floor specifically the "Gay Party Circuit 90's style" as the original Queen of the Desert-Palm springs Easter weekend. Ashamed to admit I am not really been an avid reader. Like I said before paying attention in High School meant reading, memorizing etc. I know now my A.D.H.D. did hinder my ability to concentrate. To this day when others say pick up a good book or did you read such and such I cannot relate. When seeing book clubs discussing characters and plots of the book they all read I am intrigued at what each of them took away from reading a certain book but for the life of me have not been able to visualize or be so literally obsessed with a book. My solution would always be wait for the movie if the book was so incredible, but I cringe when others say after such a movie is produced via screenplay, OH the book was so much better. I shot the story for this series while in NYC a young more...and very talented Jehane Noujaim directed me through it. Today Jehane has gone on to bigger and better things and I was truly blessed to work with such talent. As for this 13 minute Documentary which I have chopped into 4 parts tells the story of my struggle with God and being Gay. Coming out,testing HIV,doing drugs,attempted suicide, be re"born", and sadly would find out after the airing of this show my entire spiritual family founded in Pastor Craig Groeschell and Life church was all a fraud. regardless of my ending you can decide from the information presented one thing is for certain God Loves you less
