Video of us visiting Dachau.. I'm still having a hard time really expressing my emotions of this visit to this camp. As you walk within the gates, through the hall of where prisoners were kept and even to see the horror of the gas chamber. Dachau will have always left a huge impact on me. less Added: May 3, 07 Views: 488 Category: Travel & Places |

| | | Legoland in Germany 11:22 William and I finally filled our promise of taken Jared to Legoland.. Between the entire year of Germany, the pregnancy, the loss of Zachary and traveling more...- we found the perfect day to attend. Initially we were suppose to have gone on Saturday but it started to rain.. so we ended up going on Sunday instead. Turned out to be the perfect day, down to the sun coming out! It was perfect, a lot of fun and we were all shocked in how much bigger it was then we expected. less Added: May 2, 07 Views: 46 Category: Travel & Places |
| | Exploring the castle 09:57 William and I decided to explore the castle that we claimed for the day.. Unfortunately William took his lap top so I was unable to add photo to this, more...however later today I will upload photos to my Yahoo Photo page @ http://new.photos.yahoo.com/jaredsmommy2004/albums BTW @ 8:10 of the video is when William and I are on the very top of the castle (Amazing view) and as well I ended up getting a lot of shots of William's Adorable behind.
Also the bridge that we had to cross to get to the castle, FREAKED the hell out of me and needless to say when it was time to leave I waited for William to come across it before I got back into the car. All I could do when we went over the bridge was imagine our ultimately death as the bridge would collapse as we were on top of it and during that process I stressed William out making him think he was going to hit the side of the bridge with the car. less Added: May 2, 07 Views: 36 Category: Travel & Places |
| | | Auf Schonburg Burghotel Castle - Wedding Suite 07:25 Some conversation is considered Adult, not suitable for children or under 18
Video of the beautiful hotel room (that is actually a castle) *Wedding more...Suite that William booked for our 2 year anniversary. The castle is located off of the Rhein River. The room came with a lot of great little guest book that was filled with tons of reviews and things they have found throughout the castle. However there were several times mentioned of this room being haunted. Needless to say, I'm not sure if my imagination went wild or not - but in the middle of the night I heard foot steps coming up the stair wells.. When the sound of the creek coming up the stairs stopped I saw a huge shadow go across the ceiling.. I ended up keeping William up for the rest of the night. | | Searching for The Loreley (read description about Loreley) 06:07 After leaving the castle, William and I went on the quest to find The Loreley. Finding Loreley was a adventure, since we followed the signs to get there more...only to go up a mountain. After searching, I finally found a local and found out she was beneath us the whole time.
Written below in our Rick Steve's Tourist book: The Loreley- Steep a big slate rock in centuries of legend and it becomes a tourist attraction, the ultimate Rhinestone. The Loreley, rising 135 meters (450 feet) over the narrowest and deepest point of the Rhine, has long been important. It was a holy site in pre-Roman days. The fine echoes here - thought to be ghostly voices - fertilized the legendary soil.
Because of the reefs just upstream, many ships never made it to St. Goar. Sailors (after days on the river) blamed their misfortune on a wunderbares Fraulein whose long blonde hair almost covered her body. Heinrich Heine's Song of Loreley tells the story of a count who sent his men to kill or capture this siren after she distracted his horny son, causing him to drown. When the soldiers cornered the nymph in her cave, she called her father (Father Rhine) for help. Huge waves, the likes of which you'll never see today, rose from the river and carried Loreley to safety. And she has never been seen since.
But atlas, when the moon shines brightly and the tour buses are parked, a soft, playful Rhine whine can be heard from the Loreley. As you pass, listen carefully ("Sailors...sailors...over my bounding mane")
Song of The Loreley: I do not know what haunts me, What saddened my mind all day; An age-old tale confounds me, A spell I cannot allay.
The air is cool and in twillight The Rhine's dark waters flow; The peak of the mountain in highlight Reflects the evening glow.
There sits a lovely maiden Above so wondrous fair, With shining jewels laden, She cambs her golden hair.
If falls through her comb in a shower, And over the valley rings A song so mysterious power That lovely maiden sings.
The boatman in his small skiff is Seized y a turbulent love, No longer he marks where the cliff is, He looks to the mountain above.
I think the waves must flung him Against the reefs nearby, And that did with her singing The Lovely Loreley less Added: May 2, 07 Views: 39 Category: Travel & Places |

The Unknown Soldier
Jared and I also had our first encounter with Gypsy.. Very interesting. Also Jared forgot to grab his jacket as we left home for Paris. So we had to find him a jacket to wear.. Of course, this lead to us all having matching Adidas (I actually ended up wearing Two Hoodies over each other during the entire trip) less Added: May 2, 07 Views: 141 Category: Travel & Places |
| | | Paris Day 2 08:34 WARNING: Statues and Art do contain nudity for those that may get offending. As well please note there is video of Mummies
Eiffel Tower - We actually more...arrived 45 minutes prior to the opening to go inside. I'm glad we did because the line just continued to get bigger and bigger as we waited. The day before there was easily a two hour wait.
A lot of walking on our way to the Louvre - Through the walk, we went through Place De La Concorde, most infamous public square where several beheading took place (Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette to name a few). In the center of the square, you will see Obelisque de Luxor from Eqypt. In addition we walk through Tuileries Gardens. Places of interest is Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, The Winged Victory of Samothrace, Capitol of Apadana, Medieval Moat
Day 2 we also went to Notre Dome, however my battery died, therefor I will make a special video for Notre Dome by itself since we went back the following day for video (more) less Added: May 2, 07 Views: 36 Category: Travel & Places |
| | Paris Day 3 08:30 Jim Morrison's Grave, we actually spent a great deal of time searching for it in the rain, cold and extremely wet day. Thankfully we ran into someone more...else who was doing the same thing, after you see the cat run across the street, you will hear someone scream Here Here Here - that was so we would be able to find it.
Museum National D'Histoire Naturelle - Wow a collection. It was filled with bones from frogs to giraffes all the way down to dinosaurs. As well human bones and I was shocked to see that they had bones from a fetus. The collection was massive, somethings I didn't video tape where brains with stems attached it and every organ within a body.
Have to ask William for the name of the third place, sorry about that. But it was a great place to go for dinner we found out to late. Our last night was a great dinner and ended up having fondue (Beef fondue, cheese fondue, and a bottle of wine - it was the same price we paid for pizza the day before) BTW Yes those are bras hanging from the ceiling in one of the restaurants and be sure to checkout the drunk @ the end of the video less Added: May 2, 07 Views: 82 Category: Travel & Places |
