Kisame is following Naruto and the others... little does he know there is someone else on HIS tail.
Kisame: "Orochimaru may be one of the legendary more...sannin... but I'm sure Sasori could handle him, if he defeated the sand's best Kazekage."
Suddenly, a sword is launched right in front of Kisame. He doesn't recognize the blade, but realizes he'll have to take down another person before getting to Itachi.
Kisame: "What's this? Did Orochimaru defeat Sasori after all?"
???: "No. Your teammate won. But unfortunately, you won't be as lucky."
Kisame: "Heh, you think so? Why don't you reveal yourself?"
A familiar figure then comes out of the bushes: Itachi's younger brother.
Sasuke: "Well, well. Itachi's buddy's here."
Kisame: "Sasuke, huh? I wonder how you feel... Orochimaru's gone."
Sasuke: "I'm only disappointed he was disposed of before I could get strong enough."
Kisame: "Heh, even if that snake lasted longer, you will never be able to defeat Itachi."
Sasuke ignores Kisame's remark, and notices an unconscious Sakura on his side.
Sasuke: "What's this? Did Itachi send you to get him a girlfriend?"
Kisame: "You're funny. I have bigger plans."
Kisame then attempts to leave, but Sasuke quickly moves in front of him.
Sasuke: "Nope. Your plans end here... as well as Itachi's!" *Activates Sharingan*
Kisame: "Poor boy... it seems that today, Itachi will be the last existing Uchiha."

Soon after Guy is defeated, Kisame catches up, and meets up with Sasori. The two follow Itachi and the pursuiters. However, more...they didn't realize that they were crossing the base of one of Akatsuki's former members...
Sasori: "I don't see why you took that girl with you, Kisame. You should have left her to die!"
Kisame: "I was thinking, maybe we could make a deal with those scum. We don't need them capturing Itachi."
As the two continue on, a familiar figure appears in front of them. Sasori recognizes it faster than Kisame: Orochimaru.
Orochimaru: "Well, well, Sasori, and Kisame. What brings you here? What could you possibly want."
Kisame: "We were just passing by. Now, move."
Orochimaru: "Heh, do you expect to me to believe that? Perhaps Itachi wants Sasuke? Or you plan to kill me, so I don't spill information, hmm?"
Just then, Hiruko's tail curls around Orochimaru, and keeps him in his grasp.
Sasori: "Kisame... go on ahead. I want to take care of something."
Kisame: "Very well. Take care of this trash, and catch up to me."
Kisame then leaves, and Sasori releases Orochimaru from Hiruko's tail, until Kisame is out of sight.
Sasori: "I haven't seen you for a long time, Orochimaru."
Orochimaru: "Ah, Sasori... yes, the last time I've seen you was when we were partners... I was always the better one."
Sasori: "Oh? You think so? Well, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to get rid of a traitor."
Orochimaru: "Go ahead and try..."
Meanwhile, the pursuiters follow Itachi, with Kisame catching up...

As Kisame defeats Sakura, he wonders what to do with her. He decides to take her with him. He figures that he'll need "bait", as himself and Itachi can't more...handle all of the pursuiters. Meanwhile, the group catches up to Itachi.
Yamato: "Kakashi, what should we do?"
Kakashi: "We'll let Team Guy take this one, since Guy is trained against the Sharingan."
Naruto: "Kakashi! There's another one!"
Kakashi: "Another what, Naruto?"
Just then, a large figure - another Akatsuki member, jumps in, with Sai in his tail.
Yamato: "Wh-When did he get Sai?"
Itachi: "Sasori... I don't need your help."
Sasori: "Don't complain, Itachi. Besides, it's you they want."
Guy quickly leaps and retrieves Sai from Sasori's tail. When he brings it back to the group, he notices...
Guy: "There's no marks... but I know for sure. He's dead."
Naruto: "Damn! If Sakura was here..."
Kakashi: "Sai... and Sakura isn't back either... we have to continue. There's nothing we can do with them now."
Sasori: "Itachi... go. I'll take one down. Don't worry, though, Deidara's on ahead."
With that, Itachi started to go on the run again.
Guy: "You guys go on ahead. This one doesn't seem that fast."
Kakashi: "Alright, Guy. You better get back to us."
Surprisingly, Sasori let them go on ahead. He simply glanced at Guy.
Sasori: "You're lucky to stay here. You'll survive longer than those fools... but not that much longer."
Guy: "Heh, I plan to enjoy the spring of youth forever!"
Sasori: "Do you see that boy over there?" He points at Sai. "He was poisoned to death. And soon, you'll end up like him."

Tsunade becomes desperate to find information on Sasuke, and decides Itachi may be the only way. She sends Team Guy and Team Kakashi to try and find Itachi, more...and to get information about Sasuke.
Eventually, the group DOES find Itachi, along with Kisame.
Itachi: "Kakashi... we have no business with you."
Kakashi: "That's funny, because we have business with you."
Itachi: "Kisame, I'll leave it to you to take care of this trash."
Itachi then starts to run away, with Team Guy chasing him. As Kisame attempts to stop them, Kakashi blocks Kisame, allowing Team Guy to continue.
Kakashi: "Team Guy won't do well against a master of genjutsu. Sakura, take this one as we move on ahead."
Naruto: "Are you crazy? He's too strong!"
Kakashi: "As much as I'd like to help, we don't have time. Itachi is the target. Besides, Sakura is very strong in Taijutsu. I believe she can overpower him."
With that, everyone but Sakura and Kisame leave. Kisame had heard what Kakashi said, and it made him very interested.
Kisame: "Heh, I'd like to see just how good you are."
Sakura: "I have to beat you... if I'm ever to find Sasuke again!"
Kisame: "Oh, how cute! You want to see your beloved Sasuke, huh? Fat chance!"
Sakura: "I'm going to defeat you, and then I'm going to make Itachi spill all of the information he knows!"
Kisame: "Spill? That's funny, because information isn't what's gonna be spilling here. Your blood's gonna spill!"
