I'm going to postpone the John Liu Project, and have something old & new up.
| Monday, August 27, 2007 at 9:46 AM | | Greetings, I'm not sure what to do anymore. My best videos were on another site, and it's all deleted now. Very disappointing, because I had important resources on the Martial Arts genre. I was thinking about not showing small clips anymore. Instead big projects with my concepts. I have 3 videos that were shown before, and I'm going to probably re-work on 2 of them and upload it here. At a time where my life was in turmoil, I was still working on my videos. I just wasn't training, hope I don't lose more...the will power, because I'm so passionate about Martial Arts, and to how it's being shown.
For some clips, I'm just going to try something new, even if it's not part of any project. I'll probably add a copyright disclaimer to the material as well, to avoid being called a infringer. I'm not someone who will misrepresent other people's work. Watch it first, and see for yourself what I'm doing, and how I'm displaying it. I know about the copyright infringement law, that's why I'm very careful what I'm showing. Is there a law against FMV? (Fan Made Videos). I still see a lot around on the internet. If it's so wrong, there should be system to automatically delete those who are violating a holder's rights under (a copyright, patent, trademark, or trade name). If it's not being misrepresented it shouldn't be deleted. What's wrong with a FMV or a Tribute? We're just showing our appreciation for their work. We're not trying to make a profit or sell the material in any way. If it's quality work, the owners of the copyright materials shouldn't complain. Because we just helped them gain more fans, more attention, the viewers would likely even purchase the owner's work through us, the people that's spending on their product first. We are almost like promoting their work for them, and we get nothing for it. Whose getting the money? The copyright owners. We show their work in our way to others, and if it interest them, they'll probably purchases the owner's product, and we get nothing period. To those that are showing full movies and television shows on websites like these, I would consider that Copyright Infringement and not Fair Use. Even if it's not misrepresented, the material is being shown in its entirety and that wouldn't fall under FMV.
UP COMING VIDEO
I had an idea to create a tribute video to one of the best Martial Artist on film. In my opinion, John Liu. Hardcore fans would know that I'm using his real name here as my username. This is a big project, and it might take me a while to finish. The concept is to highlight his skills and most importantly his kicking ability. This one is in the works, but I don't know if it's going to come out anytime soon, because of the mixing. I have a title in mind for it already and I know what music I'm going to be using, so it's forthcoming. less
