After all that occurred recently with almost losing my husband (near death experience he had), I am very excited to tell y'all Dave and I will be somehow, someway symbolizing-renewing our wedding vows in July- we don't know yet if it will be at a church and then have reception at our house or if it will all be at our house and how informal or formal it will be - but we have decided together for sure that we will be doing something - it will be our fifth wedding anniversary. Can't wait to have it   more...videotaped and share it with all of you later, too!

Dear LV Community,

Wanted to let you know why I might not be around as much for next few weeks on LV - My husband almost died Saturday night...

I spent almost the whole time with Dave in the hospital and they discharged late today (Sunday, May 18th) he is doing a lot better compared to Saturday when I had to call 911 as he was not looking so good (pale,shaky,had trouble breathing and so on) - luckily we have a fire station on a street behind us and a hospital two streets away from us basically -   more...so they got to our place in time - the paramedics told me that Dave would have died if they had even arrived 3 minutes later as it turns out he had an "Anaphylactic shock," * see here what it all means http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anaphylaxis * In the meantime we still have been advised by the doctors that we need to get Dave scheduled into some type of more intense, serious allergy testing as they could not pinpoint what exactly caused this whole incident, but strongly believe it could be a combination of things - as he was bitten by mosquitos on Friday, then stepped on an ant pile during a walk Saturday, and then laid down on the floor later on Saturday and I had sprayed the floor with pet odor remover spray and he felt like the liquid had soaked thru his shirt...but doctors said it could still possibly have been another bug, such as a bee sting, spider bite, etc... so we pray they can narrow down the cause once he does this intense allergy testing - we are calling family doctor tomorrow morning first thing to see per doctor at hospital's request if we can get him directly into this special type allergist or if we have to come see family doctor in person first (hope we can get direclty to allergist) and then pending on how all these tests turn out, he might have to follow-up also with a cardiologist as his EKG they did at hospital turned out slightly high levels but they think and we hope it's not heart related as everyone feels more strongly it's mostly likely from insect or something that bit him and probably provoked by the liquid that got into that open area in the skin then as he laid down on sprayed carpet....


We are home for now and of course are moving June 1st weekend - for now it's Sunday, June 1st but we are going to ask if we can move that Saturday instead if possible to give us Sat and Sun to get moved in instead. So, we'll keep you all posted on Dave's hopefully continuing progress as well as our move updates

Got a confession....

On Sat, May 3, 2008, I will be participating in a walk to help provide the needs for foster children and I wanted to let all of you be the first to know! I'm nervous and excited about this as it has special meaning to me and yet it will be first official "walk" ever!


As my adoptive parents provided me a wonderful upbringing, I think it is time now to give back to those children still in need. I am dedicating my participation in this walk to the memory of my father, "Papa" who passed away on March   more...17th and whose birthday would have been May 1st.

Papa, you left us on one of my favorite holidays
But, you still gave me enough time to celebrate
Before I was told you were no longer awake

And then just yesterday as I listened to the pouring rain
I could see God's teers rolling down my window pane
He cried with me and put His arms around me
