Diagnosis:
Blindness was caused by high blood pressure (260) brought on by crushing disease.
His retina is 10% detached at this time but there is a chance he can regain some vision after the blood pressure is controlled and the body can absorb the blood from the eyes.
I can only be hopeful this can happen!
After spending 3 days in ICU (Intensive care unit) to control high blood pressure (260) it has been lowered to 170 …. With 125 as the target number.
Crushing disease……
To keep the explanation simple, Crushing disease is caused by a small microscopic tumor on the pituitary gland (or adrenal gland), which causes the adrenal glands to excrete too many hormones, which in turn caused the high blood pressure.

(I'm feeling hopeful) | | My little Shih Tzu was taken to my University veterinary hospital ... (referred by my local vet)
Known as the " Mayo Clinic for animals" He will be spending a few days with them,
Hopefully they can diagnose the cause and correct his blindness.... I'm hopeful ..
...... I belieave he is in good hands ....

(I'm feeling sad) | | Its sad to think sometimes looking back how time can pass so quickly ….My Shih Tzu (she zoo) “Buster” has just turned 10, but for his breed a small dog not so old….. This week he is BLIND … I took him to the vet, his eyes are dilated , don’t respond to light allso The whites of the eye are red. :(
The vet said he could do nothing but refer him to a specialist, so I’m taking him next week, I’m holding hope maybe, they can restore partial sight. As for me I just feel helpless, watching him rub at his eyes trying to brush the darkness away. :(

I am outspoken, opinionated and determined. I want what I want and there is nothing wrong with that!
So try to stomp on me, try to douse my inner flame, and try to squash every ounce of beauty I hold within me. You won't succeed.
And if that makes me a bitch , so be it. I embrace the title and am proud to bear it.
